As we mentioned, the way of measuring both tools will be different and the data collected in Google Analytics will not be the same as what we had in Universal. It is even important to highlight that the history accumulated in the accounts cannot be migrated to the new GA properties. Users will be able to check the history for a while, but after those months, the data will disappear. Seeing that the measurement and nomenclature is different, we are going to highlight in which aspects GA and Universal Analytics are different:
Hit types Universal Analytics hit types include page hits, event hits, ecommerce hits, and social engagement hits . Google Analytics data is event-based, any interaction can be recorded as an event . Therefore, UA hit types translate into events in GA Events It is the fundamental Whatsapp Number List difference between UA and GA . A UA event has a category, an action, a tag, and its own hit type. In Google Analytics , each hit is an event without making any distinction between hit types . UA page views are translated into events in GA properties .
A screen view is the equivalent of an application's page view. In GA an event is triggered every time a user views a screen. Sessions In UA, a session can contain multiple page views, events, social interactions, and e-commerce transactions. The session ends after a period of inactivity of minutes or when another event occurs . GA session metrics are obtained from an automatically logged event. The duration is based on the time interval between the first and last event in the session . Calculation of active users In UA, user activity requires manual instrumentation .
